Power pop meets Celtic ballad

He stepped outside at midnight to salute the harvest moon
He said “I’m just a vessel - my heart, an empty room.
Send to me a love the likes of which I’ve never known
To hold my hand and put an end to dancing all alone.”

A voice replied from deep outside, within, and all around
A voice that uttered words and yet made not a single sound, to say
“You'll know her when the sun breaks through the darkened clouds above 
You’ll know her in the wind that whispers ‘Do you take this love?’ “

As this occurred, a lonely girl also felt the pull
To go outside, embrace the night, and face the moon in full
She spread her arms to gather in the spirits of romance
She nodded, dipped and turned and skipped, and thus began her dance

They met not long thereafter in a crowd of sight and sound
And though they’d met before, a new vibration would surround them
It started with a spark, a smile, a wink, and a little shove
It started when he asked her simply “Do you take this love?”

And now they breathe more deeply, and stars are in their eyes
They sleep the whole night through — they need not pray to darkened skies
Their lives could not be more complete, nor more deserving of
Since the two both now repeat: “Yes, I take this love!”
